What is the Wildcat Foundation?
The Wildcat Foundation was incorporated in May 2004 as a 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation to help the young men and women of North
Little Rock High School and subsequently our city as a whole. Since
2004, we’ve contributed over $500,000 toward enhancing student life
at the school. If you have a project you think we'd be interested in
participating in,

Who are we and what current activities do we sponsor?
Our Board of Directors are: Eddie Armstrong, Karen Boone, Teresa
Burl, Anita Cameron, Cathy Cameron, Mary Beth Cox, Bill Gray, Regan
Gruber-Moffitt, Whitnie Hall, Luke King, Kevin Noble and Clay Smith.
NLRHS senior Savanna Sallee currently serves as our Student Advisor.
Our main fund raising event each year is the annual Wildcat Duffers Classic
Golf Tournament. In addition, we've sponsored basketball
tournaments and baseball tournaments as well as worked community
events as sources of revenue. Annual memberships also provide
funds.
What we have accomplished.
We've been fortunate to have touched many forms of student life on
the NLRHS campus through financial contributions to: The
Speech and Drama Club, Swim Team, Yearbook, Volleyball Team, North
Little Rock UniClub, Basketball Team, Post Prom Committee, Golf
Team, Wildcat
Spirit Shop, The North Little Rock Public Education Foundation as
well as sponsorship of Girls State and Boys State attendees, a
reading program and college scholarships for graduating seniors.
Our major project
in 2005 and 2006 was the construction of a new 3,500 square foot
multi-purpose training facility at the high school complete with
state-of-the-art equipment and a new visitor's concession stand.
The project was a classic example of "Teamwork" as the Foundation
along with community and business leaders joined to make the project
a smashing success. Our contribution to the project was over
$150,00. Thanks to all who so graciously devoted their time
and financial support!
Since 2006 we've sponsored ten girls and ten boys to Arkansas Girls
State and Boys State each year. We are very proud to be a part
of their development as future leaders at NLRHS as well as in our
community.
Recently we have
partnered with Barnes and Noble to assist the school with a student
reading program we're very excited about. The project has
netted an additional 225 books for classroom libraries. We are
hopeful that a continued emphasis on reading will result in
improvement of school-wide literacy.
We also fund college scholarships for graduating seniors. Our
Wildcat Legacy Scholarship has been renamed "The Anita Cameron
Wildcat Legacy Scholarship" in honor of her vast contributions to
NLRHS. This scholarship is given to students who exemplify the
spirit of student life at North Little Rock High School every year.
